Budding novelist Nate Shepherd, late forties, and the young and beautiful Jenny Sparks, early thirties, meeting in a fancy New York City eatery. Complete strangers who have had a rotten day, waiting for their better halves and the rest of their parties, they reveal to one another that they are going to meet new people tonight. They quickly realize they are waiting for each other. Just as they begin to connect, Nate's girlfriend (Adi), and Jenny's boyfriend (Buddy) show up. Buddy rubs Nate the wrong way immediately, and we see that Adi is impressed with Buddy's stature and wealth, both of which Nate cannot compare. This dinner looks to be an uncomfortable experience for all. After dinner, both couples go home. Adi breaks up with a stunned Nate. It is obvious the biggest reason is money. At Jenny and Buddy's apartment, we learn their relationship is healthy on the sexual front. Unfortunately, it seems to be hurting everywhere else. Buddy's good friend is coming to New York City for a visit, although Jenny wants him to come with her to her cousin's wedding in Boston instead. Buddy considers the matter closed, and in an old-fashioned, sexist way, will not even discuss the matter with her. She rolls over to go to sleep, clearly saddened. Buddy's Los Angeles hipster friend, Sam Steele, comes to town toting a bag of drugs. While Jenny is away, Buddy and his pal play. At Jenny's cousin's wedding the phone rings with the news that Buddy overdoses. He is dead. Jenny is blown away with shock. At the memorial, Nate and Jenny bond once again, and it seems that only Nate understands what she is going through. Neither really knows where it's going to lead, but realizes that might not be such a bad thing.

The Longhettis are a working class family, Nick who heads a city works crew, and Mabel who stays at home looking after their three adolescent children, Angelo, Tony and Maria. Many people who look at the family from the outside believe Mabel is crazy, her behavior which Mabel largely attributes to her exuberance in trying to be who she thinks Nick wants her to be to put their family in a good light in whatever social situation. Nick too knows the perception others have of Mabel, he who tries to do whatever he needs to to protect her. An incident involving Mabel may cross that line for Nick of what he believes he can handle on his own, versus needing the assistance of medical professionals, all in protecting the children and Mabel from herself, but equally what he believes is the good Longhetti name. Nick's collective actions in dealing with Mabel before, during and after this specific incident demonstrate how emotionally capable Nick is in his own right.
An abusive, narcissistic and controlling husband tries to gaslight his wife into feeling like she's going crazy, threatening her with commitment and with the loss of her children. She tries to be both a perfect wife to his every whim and a wonderful caring mother but his violence and then public blaming of her sends her to the hospital.

They decide to drive through India with a 1936 Rolls-Royce, a smoke-billowing and constantly breaking symbol of colonialism. Oliver McGarvey's film Romantic Road proves that not all Grey-haired Britons dream of quiet retirement days. The document is set on a six month period full of action and philosophical musings. As the Grey's manoeuvre through the Indian traffic, customs bureaucracy and garages, the stench of kerosene, mud and sweat is so strong that you can almost smell it in the audience. At times, the camera visits a film set, where the local politics are emphasized and the white privilege is as clear as day. Romantic Road is simultaneously sympathetic and political; both a road movie and a biopic. It is a warm depiction of a 35-year-long marriage, a true story of how important it is to have the support of your loved one.

Billy suspects Loup LaTour (Antonio Moreno) and his partner Chick Carson (Harry Cording). While Marna Reynolds (Helen Chandler (I)') dreams of dances and pick chiffon dresses, her father,"Dad" Reynolds (David Hartford) is being forced to purchase stolen furs from LaTour and Carson, and LaTour is throwing a few lecherous glances toward Marna.Billy, in a card game, catches LaTour cheating and also suggests he suspects him of theft and murder before further violence is stopped by Sheriff Milton Powers (Roy Stewart). Billy and Laramie are ambushed and Billy is shot in the shoulder but kills Carson. Laramie takes Billy to Reynolds trading post where Marna ministers to his would. LaTour convinces the sheriff that Billy murdered Carson and the sheriff is led on a dog-sled-chase by Laramie.LaTour returns to the post with intentions of changing his lecherous glances into lecherous action, and the weakened Billy struggles with LaTour as Marna races toward the log-jammed river.
