Summaries
An anthology of five horror stories shared by five men trapped in the basement of an office building.
Five strangers board a descending lift, one by one, in a modern office block in London. They reach the sub-basement, though none of them have pressed for that destination. There they find a large, elaborately furnished room that appears to be a gentlemen's club. The lift door has closed; there are no buttons to bring it back, nor any other exit. Resigned to waiting for help, they settle down with drinks and talk. The conversation turns to dreams, and each man tells of a recurring nightmare.
Based on the top horror comic's of the 1950's-The Vault of Horror was based on one of E.C.Comic's 3 Top titles.The other two include world famous Tales Of The Crypt"also made into a similar movie" and The Haunt Of Fear.This movie has 5 short stories simular to the comic book format.
In this particular British anthology of horror stories made in 1973 by Amicus Productions five men from all walks of life are locked in the basement vault of a central London building. With all exits blocked, the men resign themselves to waiting for help. As time passes by they start discussing their dreams, telling tales of their worst nightmares. Based on the black humour and irony of E.C.Comics horror stories from the 1950s by Al Feldstein and William M. Gaines.
